Mr. Yingcong Xu is Vice General Manager of Watson & Band IP Agent Ltd. He is a senior patent attorney, a judicial authenticator and a technical broker. Mr. Xu received a Master Degree in International Business Law from the University of Hull in England, and a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Shanghai University.
Prior to joining Watson and Band, Mr. Xu worked as an in-house IP attorney in Global 500 companies and a Chinese state-run research institute for more than 10 years, where he accumulated rich experience in IP rights management. He ever worked as Senior IP Counsel in Saint-Gobain Shanghai Research, and served as an IP manager in Shanghai National Technology Transfer Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
During the period of working in Watson & Band, Mr. Xu was dispatched to extend his IP practice and support Chinese clients in US Law Offices.
Mr. Xu's IP practice covers all aspects from Chinese patent prosecution to litigation and enforcement, including without limitation, patent and trademark portfolio management and procurement, reexamination and invalidation of patents, registration of copyrights and recordation of IP rights at the customs, IP rights due diligence, IP rights licensing and transferring, and assisting in pre-litigation and/or litigation enforcement before the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and/or the Chinese courts.
Mr. Xu also counsels clients on trademark and copyright matters, and assists in providing legal opinions for various IP related issues.
