Bankruptcy-related Essay written by Watson & Band Partners won Second Prize in the Contest hosted by Shanghai Bankruptcy Administrators Association

Recently Shanghai Bankruptcy Administrators Association (the “Association”) hosted the second session of its first general meeting in Shanghai. At the session, authors and institutions of “Excellent Essays by Bankruptcy Administrators” were praised. The essay jointly written by Watson & Band Managing Partner Frank Qian and Partner Xiaosu Zhu, entitled “Influences on Enterprises Bankruptcy Practice by the Several New Rules under the General Provisions of the Contract Chapter of the P.R.C. Civil Code”, received the second prize.

It is learned that in order to enhance the members’ capability in handling bankruptcy cases and to summarize the members’ experience in judicial practice in the bankruptcy area, Shanghai Bankruptcy Administrators Association initiated the “Contest for Excellent Essays by Bankruptcy Administrators” among all members and pre-members of the Association. After preliminary review by the Association and expert assessment by scholars within the bankruptcy area, first, second and third prizes were selected from the 92 candidate essays.

Shanghai Bankruptcy Administrators Association was approved by Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and established on September 12, 2019 in accordance with the Regulations on Registration and Administration of Social Organizations. Consisting of competent and qualified law firms, accounting firms and bankruptcy and liquidation firms, it is a voluntarily-organized professional non-profit social organization. The Association sets under it the Council, the Board of Supervisors and a number of specialized committees; also, experts and scholars are engaged as advisors of the Association.


Presently, Watson & Band Partner Xiaosu Zhu serves on the Council of the Association; meanwhile, Partner Binghui Cai on Xiaosu’s team, is also a member of the Association’s Industry Survey and Publicity Committee and Service Training and Communication Committee.
