W&B Live Report from Shanghai International Film Festival (III)

  On the second day of the SIFF Project, an entertainment industry legal service team led by four Watson & Band partners Qian Junliang, Zhu Xiaosu, Wu Yueqin and Zhu Jingjing met with a group of producers from the U.S., Taiwan and mainland China to discuss the status quo and development of their film projects as well as their potential legal needs.

  Based on their years of experience offering legal services to domestic and foreign entertainment clients, W&B lawyers offered answers and insights concerning questions posed by producers regarding a series of issues involving Sino-foreign co-produced films including financing, copyright licensing, product placement, completion guarantees and copyright infringement.

  At the Sino-European Producers' Networking Party held that afternoon W&B lawyers were invited to communicate directly with a number of producers from Los Angeles, Paris, Berlin, Beijing and Shanghai in order to exchange ideas about the current status and prospects for Sino-European movie co-production, the difficulties faced by European films in China caused by cultural differences and related matters.
