W&B Managing Partner Jean Yang Attends Opening Ceremony at East China Copyright Registration Hall, Delivers Lecture for China Copyright Protection Center
Recently, the East China Copyright Registration Hall (the “Hall”) of the China Copyright Protection Center (the “CCPC”) officially opened in Minhang District, Shanghai. The Hall is the second project launched by the CCPC during its Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for promoting the construction of a regional copyright service window system. It is also a significant step taken by the government to promote public copyright services. W&B Managing Partner Jean Yang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a lecture.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Bin Wu, Minhang District Deputy Chief. Dignitaries in attendance included Mr. Guijian Duan, CCPC Director; Mr. Guoqiang Lu, Director of Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office; Mr. Zhenquan Cao, Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai Zhangjiang High Tech Industrial Development Park Administrative Committee; Mr. Zhisong Zhu, Deputy Secretary of the Minhang District Committee and Minhang District Chief, all of whom delivered lectures.
At the forum entitled IP Protection and Strategies Under New Circumstances, W&B Managing Partner Jean Yang delivered a lecture entitled A Discussion of Enterprises Copyright Protection Practices in the New Economy. Ms. Yang used relevant data to elaborate on current circumstances and the defining characteristics of copyright disputes that arise among Shanghai enterprises. She then analyzed the issue of enterprise copyright protection. Ms. Yang started from practical examples that exemplify enterprise copyright protection to interpret and carefully analyze focus issues such as the principle of copyrights in service works and the significance of copyright registration. She concluded her lecture by providing legal commentary and advice concerning enterprise copyright and software copyright disputes.
The opening of the CCPC Hall in Minhang District will play an iconic role for the development of the cultural and creative industry in Shanghai and East China.
